Annual Reports

The State Service Commissioner is required to provide an annual report on the performance or exercise of their functions or powers during the previous 12 months to 30 June in each year, in accordance with section 23 of the State Service Act 2000 (the Act). This report is provided to Parliament by 30 November.

The report includes the following information, data and analysis:

  • the Commissioner’s evaluation program;
  • a report card on the State Service Principles and Code of Conduct;
  • a report on the State Service employment policy work;
  • statistics on the Commissioner’s statutory functions; and
  • statistics on State Service employment levels, characteristics and trends, including:
    • State Service employee headcount by employment category and gender, and full-time equivalent count by employment category;
    • A breakdown of full-time, part-time, casual and sessional employees;
    • Number of officers by employment category and gender, and senior executive service salary ranges;
    • Age and gender profiles of the State Service workforce;
    • Salary profiles of the State Service workforce by gender; and
    • Distribution of employees by employment category, age and gender
